THOMPSON PHARMACY supports spreading the awareness of World Prematurity Day, November 17
Every year, 13 million babies are born prematurely worldwide. A million of them never get to celebrate their first birthday, and many more face serious, lifelong health challenges. Raising awareness of this common and serious problem is the first step to defeating it. THOMPSON PHARMACY’S staff members wore blue jeans and ribbons on Nov. 17th to support preemie babies worldwide.

Gloria Gates "Gift for Kids" program
Throughout the holidays this year, Thompson Pharmacy teamed with the Gloria Gates Foundation to brighten the spirits of some children in need. The Gates Foundation is a non-profit organization that reaches children from low-income families. They encourage school performance along with building self-esteem and moral character so that youth will grow up to be contributing members of society. This project encouraged participants to adopt an ornament from the WTAJ Gifts for Kids Tree at the Thompson Pharmacy locations. Each ornament included the name of a specific gift asked for by one of the children. The participants then filled out the requests of their ornaments and returned the gifts to the pharmacy. Each of the program locations: Logan Hills, Fairview Hills and Evergreen Manor held a Christmas party for the children where they were each given their Christmas gift.
